Seneca, South Carolina

The lake is located two hours from Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina, and one hour from Greenville, South Carolina, making it one of the most accessible recreational areas in the region.

Two million acres of mountains and national forests are located within an hour of Hartwell Lake along with waterfalls, parks, hiking trails, picnic areas, streams, scenic drives, and endless recreational experiences. Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee are equally picturesque and abundant in recreational and natural pursuits. You’ll enjoy plenty of outstanding fishing, water skiing, sailing, boating, camping, and hiking in addition to the lush woodlands, scattered islands, serene coves, and pristine waters. Used as an Indian trading post and outpost in the 1700’s, this 210-acre park documents the area’s history in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
